​The Avatar of Synthesis

Tonight, I will not begin with the questions that you have given to me, but I would like to talk a little bit about the Avatar of Synthesis, for I have noticed that you do not understand about this great being. This is quite understandable if you haven’t read some of Alice Bailey’s literature in which the Avatar of Synthesis in His mission on Earth, His mighty task, is described.
 
Also, it is important for you who go regularly to the church [services], to understand about the Avatar of Synthesis, for it is within this great being that we are developing. For some years ahead, He is the most important being – He and the Christ.
 
Now, let us talk about the Avatar of Synthesis. We have many different kinds of avatars, and the Avatar of Synthesis is a transmitting avatar – a transmitter of a certain kind of energy. Transmitting avatars are never coming further down upon the Earth than the mental level. They are Cosmic Beings. Some of Them have never been physical, or had physical incarnations on a planet like the Earth and so, in order for Them to manifest physically, They have to utilise a human being.
 
Well, that is no news because the Masters work the same way. But there is one difference and that is that the Avatar of Synthesis, who is such an enormous being, sometimes must utilise another transmitter before He enters into a physical human being. And for that He has chosen the Lord Christ and Michael the Archangel – in my case, Michael the Archangel.
 
A triangle of force has been established by Christ, the Manu and the Lord Morya – a triangle. He, the Avatar of Synthesis, is working through the first ray department, because the first ray department offers the least resistance to Him, as He is a first ray being. An enormous being of the first ray, it is easiest for Him to manifest through the first ray.
 
Now, who is the leader of the first ray department? Those of you who have studied in our school and who have studied theosophy, know that it is the Manu. The Lord Morya is the lieutenant of the Manu, and the next Manu to come.
 
Who is the Lord Christ? That is the Lord Maitreya. The Christ has never worked on the first ray. For Him it is something unique that is happening. It is something that will gain the Lord Maitreya the initiation called the Buddha Initiation.
 
I know that we already call the Lord Maitreya ‘Maitreya Buddha’, because He is already a Buddha, but in order to become the Buddha of the Earth, He must establish this initiation all through His bodies down to the physical. In order for Him to do so, working with the Avatar of Synthesis helps Him to gain this higher initiation. It is a kind of sacrifice because it is totally new, a totally new experience for Him – something He’s not used to, this working through the Divine Will of God, and not only through Divine Will of Wisdom and Love.
 
The Avatar of Synthesis is trying to establish the will-to-do-good on this Earth and He will use the means that He sees fit to gain this effect. Now, the first ray stands for synthesis and unity, unification, and the will-to-do-good in the Aquarian Age. The will-to-do-good is the merging of the first ray and the second ray. The Lord Maitreya, who is the Head of the Hierarchy, the second ray department, and Teacher of angels and men alike, is now co-operating within, in this mighty, mighty being who will see to it that peace will be established upon this Earth.
 
He will see to it, this mighty being, the Avatar of Synthesis, that the negative forces will be losing their stronghold upon this Earth. That is why He will utilise, of course, the first ray department – the first ray department being the department where the Archangel Michael is the Archangel, the Prince of Light, the Prince who combats the negative forces day and night. It’s also the department of the Board of Karma, where the energy of the Board of Karma is very strong. The Avatar of Synthesis is utilising the energy called karma, and the co-operation of the Board of Karma, to do His work upon this Earth.
 
Now we have therefore, an enormous being, a transmitting avatar, who has chosen a vehicle to work through on this Earth, a vehicle who is an initiate that is on an equally high level soul-wise as a Master of Wisdom, or even a Christ.
 
The Lord Maitreya helps the Avatar of Synthesis and the chosen vehicle of the Avatar. And so we find that, for the first time in Earth’s history, we feel a being that is going to clean out and purify this Earth for the Hierarchy.
 
Who has invoked the Avatar of Synthesis? He has been invoked by the masses more than the disciples of the Earth, for the disciples display inertia and not very much will to co-operate which is why it is actually the masses of humanity, and their cry for help, that has invoked the Avatar.
 
Now, when the Lord D.K. wrote His books, the latest book in 1948/49, He Himself did not know when the Avatar of Synthesis would appear upon this Earth. He also did not know, when He started His mission in 1919 through Alice Baliey, that there would be a second World War, because only the First World War was expected and was taking place when He started working with His channel. 
 
But because of the free will of humanity and the desire for materialistic life and desire for evil actions, the Second World War became a fact which was a hindrance to the Lord D.K. and still, He did all of His work in the 30 years allotted to it. The Lord D.K. is a Master – a new Master at the time of working through Alice Bailey – but He was not aware of the total plan for the Earth. The only ones who are aware of the total plan of evolution upon this Earth are the Lord of the World and the Silent Watcher, these two giving some of the plan to the three departmental Heads – Christ being one of Them – who then give some of the plan to the Masters, to the Chohans and so on.
 
The Lord D.K., even if He was then an adept and now a greater adept, did not know exactly what would happen when the Avatar of Synthesis appeared upon this Earth, also manifesting the reappearance of the Christ Himself.
 
I will read to you a little bit about this wonderful mission that the Christ has in this day and age, which I have written down here, then I will continue:
 
‘The Christ is wanting to raise the entire human family nearer to God.'
 
This we have been told. I remember at the Wesak Festival the Lord Maitreya appeared through me, and said He worked differently now. 
 
‘Where He had worked more within individuals 2,000 years ago, and through the Piscean Age, He now works on families, not only bringing one individual to illumination, but the individual with his or her family. And collectively, He is working to bring the entire family nearer to God.
 
He is therefore, laying Himself open to certain powerful in-flowing energies, absorbing into Himself streams of spiritual force, and undergoing a dynamic stimulation which is entirely new to Him. This constitutes His testing for the exalted initiation which now confronts Him. It constitutes also the sacrifice He is making, in order to complete His work on Earth and bring a new salvation to humanity.
 
As you know, the Aquarian Age stands for group consciousness, group awareness. The Christ, therefore, is more interested in groups of soulmates than individual people.
 
The first ray ashram is therefore the ashram through which you will feel the presence of the Avatar of Synthesis more. And if we look at the Lord Kuthumi’s ashram, the ashram of the second ray, His mission is to produce the energy which will make possible a definite appearance of the Christ upon this Earth.’
 
The Avatar of Synthesis is spoken of in the scriptures as the Coming One, the Rider on the White Horse. Now it is also said in scriptures that is Christ appearing. But it is not Christ alone this time - it is Christ and the Avatar of Synthesis merged into one.  As you will have noticed at the services, when Michael speaks for the Avatar, and when the Lord Maitreya speaks for the Avatar, They say the same thing.
 
They say, ‘I am the One that you have waited for, the Coming One, the Rider on the White Horse’. It is actually the Avatar of Synthesis who is the long-awaited one upon this Earth. And, utilising Christ who is also expected, we have an enormous force that this Earth has never experienced. Although the Lord Maitreya has worked with many Masters on this Earth – through Jesus, He worked also with the Holy Spirit, the Lord Maha Chohan – these Christs [Masters with the Christ initiation] have never worked with a being like the Avatar of Synthesis, namely, a destroyer of evil.
 
With [the Avatar of Synthesis and] Michael, we have got a power stronger than anything upon this Earth, which will see no refusal, which will clear and cleanse the minds of men, whether they like it or not. That creates fear upon this Earth. People know subconsciously that an influx of energy has descended which does not brook any resistance from people. It does not ask people whether people want to change for the better or not. It’s too late for that. It changes for the better, in a very painful process. And people who are afraid of change will be very afraid of the Avatar of Synthesis and the Archangel Michael, because they know subconsciously that nothing is going to stop this force from doing what it has to do.
 
It is the Voice of Truth. It is the Voice of God, in its most powerful aspect, for it cannot be denied its existence, and it cannot be denied its effects.
 
It’s an interesting description here about inspiration – what the Lord D.K. says about inspiration – because when I speak in the church, I often say, ‘the Masters have inspired me to do this’. That does not mean what it means for other people: that you feel inspired to do something and you do it; you write something that you’re inspired to do; some ideas come to you. It’s not quite such an inspiration. That is a half-hearted expression of inspiration. No, this is much stronger. It is a term used for the work between a Master and a disciple.
 
‘Inspiration. This is more direct than overshadowing and more potent in results. Certain members of the Hierarchy and, above all, the lesser avatars are inspired from ‘on high’ by the cosmic Avatar and become at times direct expressions of His mind, His energy and His plans.’1 
 
It is stronger than the overshadowing principle. It is a work that cannot be described in words, where the lesser avatar, the vehicle for a greater avatar, completely merges for a period of time with a cosmic being, like the Avatar of Synthesis.
 
In the overshadowing principle, we have something like the same, but it is not completely the same. The principle of inspiration is the principle that will be used very much in the Aquarian Age.
 
What the Master says here is that in inspiration, the Avatar uses the soul as the vehicle for channelling His energies, His plans, His ‘whatever He wants to give’ to the lesser avatar.
 
‘It is an act of free spiritual cooperation, for the good of humanity… The cooperation of the Master Jesus with the Christ is a case in point.’ 2
 
I have often said it is no use to be afraid of these energies, for the more you resist these energies, the harder it will be to be illuminated in this day and age.
 
Now what happens when the Avatar of Synthesis utilises His lesser avatar? People’s negativity, which is very often within the aura looking like cement, like shells of hard matter, is broken. And the more that you are seated within this energy, the more of the negativity will be broken off from the aura.
 
Now when we talk about the Violet Flame, we talk about the process of transmutation and transformation – transmutation meaning that this energy called the seventh ray is pouring into the aura, and transmuting darkness to light.
 
The Avatar of Synthesis works in another way. This is not transmutation. This is breaking up decaying shells and thought-forms and energies, and it hurts. And if the people who frequent the church, the servers in particular, do not utilise the healing system* given by the Hierarchy to cleanse off the effects that occur from this breaking off of negativity in the aura, dangerous things will happen to the server.
 
We see mental disorders occurring and other disorders, and all these disorders can be totally dealt with and neutralised if one also takes part in the healing system.
 
One thing is certain. The Avatar of Synthesis has come to Earth, and He is the only one who can heal this Earth and help this Earth to a higher vibration, for He is working with powers that are obviously not channelled by the Lord Morya or the Manu,  or else They wouldn’t have needed the Avatar of Synthesis.
 
And out of this neutralisation of decay upon this Earth, we shall see the mountains tremble and the waters rise, and churches breaking apart, governments destroyed. Everything that is not built of goodwill will be destroyed. If the foundation is negative, it will be destroyed.
 
That is why the Avatar of Synthesis, as He works through the first ray, will be felt very much through the governments and politics upon this Earth.
 
Working through the Lord Maitreya on the second ray, we shall see revolutionary teachings appearing upon this Earth, that are doing away with the limitations that people have put upon themselves due to other philosophical teachings given to Earth.
 
The Avatar of Synthesis destroys every concept that is not of good and God, in order to give you more truthful concepts, higher philosophies which will be understood by you as you are today. And religions that have been built up for the reasons we see in the past – man was primitive, he was unbalanced, he was more animal than civilised man – these religions and their rules, their principles and laws are no longer to have an effect upon the Earth. The Avatar will remove them.
 
The Avatar will remove everything that is not good for this Earth. If that means total countries, He will do it. For what is the Avatar of Synthesis also working through? The Shamballa power, coming to use because of the utilisation of that energy we call the first ray energy. The Shamballa power is unleashed upon this Earth, and it creates the effects I have mentioned now, that everything that is not positive will be destroyed, even if it means a total continent, half of the human race.
 
They have not said for how long time this will be done. They have just said it must happen, for we must change the surface of the Earth, and the population must change in order to live here upon this new Earth.
 
But what I have understood when I listened to the channelling that I do in the church, is that you cannot understand these channellings unless you understand that they are symbolic. Most are of them are symbolic, which means that when the Avatar says, ‘There will be upheavals and conflict and warfare, and there will be trembling of the mountains and the waters will rise’, He talks about your inner bodies.
 
‘The waters shall rise and perhaps swallow you up.’ That is, the astral body of man is water – the water energy – and what He means is that your emotions, if not carefully under control, will swallow you up, will drown you, will kill you. With that, He means epidemic diseases and viruses will do the work.
 
When He says, ‘the mountains shall tremble and fall apart’, He talks about the mental body – the mental body that trembles because the mental body will not surrender to the energy of God, the energy of Divinity, and so will crush the human being, will crush the personality, the physical body, for the mental body is very strong and has enormous effect on the physical self. If the mental body is disordered or out of control, it governs the entire personality and will destroy its vehicle, the physical self, in the end.
 
When They [the Avatar through the Masters] talk about the churches and the temples falling apart, it is both a physical thing and it’s also an inner thing. The church, the temple, is the body of man. Unless purified, unless living with the Divine Laws, it will fall apart, it will die. They always warn – not about cataclysmic actions happening to the physical world – They warn of the impending dangers when man does not listen to his divinity, the Voice of Silence; that the cataclysmic actions happen within you. And if man still does not obey, they will happen on the outer level of Earth, the physical level.
 
The Archangel Michael, a vehicle used by the Avatar of Synthesis, has spoken through many World Teachers upon this Earth but the interesting thing is, He has not been heeded a lot. Men on this Earth have never heeded the World Teachers. After Their death, They are being heeded more than when They were alive, and people start to live by the laws given out by these World Teachers.
 
The Archangel Michael has used many known World Teachers, such as Moses and Jesus and others, and still people are afraid of Him when they should know better:  that the Archangel Michael only works for the good of mankind and will only help you to rise to a higher level of understanding.
 
The funny thing is that people are more afraid of Michael and the Lord Maitreya than they are afraid of the Lord of Darkness, who has consistently done nothing but destroy this Earth and its population for millions of years. When the Archangel Michael, the most fantastic, beautiful being appears in church, people tremble, and they’re scared stiff, and they run out of the doors and never want to come back. But if the Lord of Darkness appeared, everyone would clap their hands and ask him to stay for ever and ever, not understanding that in that energy we call the Lord of Darkness, we are destroyed. And in the energy we call Michael, the Prince of Light, we are developed. We are gaining more light.
 
It is a very strange level we live on, this physical level, for people are afraid of the Hierarchy who want only the best for the human population. And so the light workers have enormous resistance from the population of Earth. And when the Lord D.K. talks about all the loving world server groups of people, I must admit I haven’t met many of them and I don’t know what He talks about, for I have very seldom met a loving world server upon this Earth.
 
So all these thousands He’s talking about, I don’t know where they are, and I believe that that is why the Earth looks the way it does. There are very few changes from the world wars that we have been through recently. The human mind has changed very little. Through all the suffering, it has changed so little. That can scare an initiate to see that the enormous destructive war has done so little to the human population.
 
And that is why the Avatar of Synthesis has been invoked, because the Hierarchy could no longer do the work alone. They needed this being, who is a most fantastic being, but frightening in His certainty that He will do His work very well.
 
That is what I wanted you to know about the Avatar of Synthesis, that we are up against a mighty, mighty being, who works directly under the Solar Logos – God of this Universe. We can’t begin to imagine what initiation this mighty being has, for this mighty being is higher than the Christ – may even be higher than the Buddha Himself, on His level – and works with a force that people think is evil because it reminds them so much of when certain things happen that they would like not to think about.
 
I am just informing you of this. I would like you to co-operate with the Avatar of Synthesis, and try to explain to people the good that this being will do for this planet Earth. And that with less resistance within the servers and the members of the church, we will be able to invoke more of this mighty being’s presence in the services.
 
And perhaps it is better, if you intend to come to this church for the rest of this life, that you do study ‘Externalisation of the Hierarchy’, Alice Bailey’s book, because in there perhaps you will come to an understanding of the Avatar of Synthesis.
