[Editor's note: Beginning in the late 1980’s, Ananda conducted a series of Open House evenings. These were cosy gatherings where Ananda taught using a Question and Answer format, responding to questions asked by the participants.]


Q. 'Can you please give a few words on the importance of forgiveness of self and others?'

In Shan the Rising Light* we talk about redemption. Redemption is forgiveness of yourself. When you forgive yourself, you can easily forgive others. You can’t forgive anyone if you don’t forgive yourself. 

Now, what is there to forgive? Well, perhaps you don’t remember, but your inner does, your subconsciousness does – the guilt. 

How can all this guilt that you suffer from come to the surface from one life? What is it that is causing all this guilt? Miserable deeds and actions.
 
We work with the Law of Forgiveness, the redemptive power of the 6th Ray, through the Lord Maitreya’s Heart. It is the ruby red, the blood of Christ, but in a new vibration, in a higher vibration than in the Piscean Age used by the Catholic Church. It is something that is more like the elixir of life that the Lord Count of St. Germain works with.  

Redemption is difficult. Like everything else, you have to work hard for it. Unselfish service is the keyword. 

But not only that, it is energy work. For haven’t you worked unselfishly in other lives and have still not been redeemed. Unselfish service is therefore not enough. There must be something else, namely, energy work. 

I have the proof of redemption within myself and within people that work with me. I have watched other groups on this Earth. I am observing, as all teachers observe, what is happening in other spiritual organisations and other groups of people on Earth. And I will say, and this is not because it is something that has been created through Shan the Rising Light, I have never seen so quick redemption as for the people who regularly attend the church. 

If you have regularly attended the church over the last six months, the Hierarchy works untiringly on redeeming you. I have never seen such powerful healing work as over the last six months. People are bombarded, literally bombarded with help. In and out of that body, in and out of that chakra, they do this, they do that, and I’m saying it, people know what’s happening. 

I have never seen anything like it. They want us to be redeemed because They cannot utilise guilty vehicles. The more guilt you have, the more fear you have, the more miserable are you as an instrument – They can’t work through you properly. We need redeemed and enlightened vehicles. The Hierarchy is working for that. They are sending that flame, that ray, that vibration in there, up here, down there – and it works. 

One year ago I discovered we were to work on the path of the heart, the way of the heart. I had through many lifetimes worked through here [the third eye]. I had the usual opening of the heart but it hadn’t been used a lot. I was mainly used to sitting in the third eye and working from there. In one year, following the prescription of the Hierarchy which I have given out now in the Divine Heart Program, the service work, and now the Morning Puja, my consciousness was transferred to the heart. 

Now I admit that my heart was somewhat open already, but very rusty, very out of use. Today, I’m checking, once in awhile – I went from here, after the meditation, to the heart. It was an explosion of light, it was a fountain, it just – pfffst – it’s exploded. And I had nearly no activity there one, one and a half years ago. 

I am telling you that if I hadn’t been participating in these services for ten years. . . . What has happened over the last six months is enormous simply, I can’t tell you how enormous it is. I would not stand here today, being able to be used by the Lord Maitreya, Who is the most difficult Master to work for – He only will work through the heart. 

If you have no heart and compassion, He will not use you, and that is what I am striving to create in my people. They have to walk down from the third eye, in which they have been seated for lives, into the most difficult chakra to work from, the heart. They have to walk the way of the heart, not the way of knowledge, and that is difficult, because there is nothing more difficult than to feel love when you don’t love, to feel compassion when you don’t want it, and to go from feeling it to being it.

When I came to this country and for the first four years, I was a third eye teacher. I was knowledge, I was directed from here – mental force. Following the instructions of the Hierarchy, which I have now given out to people, I could go from that eye to that heart and become – but of course I have been trained and my people have been trained, they would be able to do it – become a heart teacher. One year ago I felt, I’ll never make it this life, I can’t feel that love. I can like, and occasionally a little bit of love. I couldn’t feel that compassion, I couldn’t feel divine love for people to the extent I do now. It is not something you can force to feel, it’s got to come from within, you see. 

And the Lord Maitreya is now training a certain amount of souls and personalities to walk that way and live in a world that they perhaps have never touched upon, divine love and compassion. In a little saintly incarnation somewhere back in the Piscean Age you had astral love, very purified feelings, very enlightened feelings, but there is a difference between the love of the solar plexus and the love of heart. Unless you feel the love of heart it is difficult to explain it, I can’t describe it. It is something that is necessary because knowledge is not enough, power is not enough, mental directness and courage are not enough if love is missing. 

So the Lord Maitreya wants me to train people to walk the way of the heart in a new way, training in a new way, and we do that. And we are learning to forgive ourselves and thus forgive others permanently, permanently.

It’s not necessary to say invocations all day, to meditate all day, to whatever you have been used to in the Piscean Age, all day. No, it is half an hour’s energy work a day, regularly attending our church services, simply to get that energy through you and help the Earth, that’s all. It could sound completely crazy, when one is used to meditating for three hours a day, mantra singing for the rest of the day, sitting with crossed legs in the cave in Tibet, singing mantras from morning, noon, night, and in one life it didn’t help you – it helped to create refined bodies to a certain extent, but it still didn’t help us to feel from the heart. 

What I said in the church on Sunday, that what I’ve noticed, and that’s the miraculous thing about it, which I also said today, it does not matter whether you are a very old soul or a younger soul, I have seen the same effects. You see, following the old principles you cannot develop a heart chakra in one life, it’s impossible – it’s lives upon lives of training, service work, labour, pain, suffering. 

It is not that I like to talk about a bypass, but it is a bypass. You no longer have to suffer for hundreds of incarnations, pain, miserable conditions, disease – hellish lives. They are now doing it to you if you will follow a certain energy program. 

All right, you can then become an initiate, which needs some experience, but you will then have that experience in a couple of lives. You see, we are many initiates on this Earth. We have Buddhas incarnating here who have no human experience at all, we have one living in India at the moment, comes from another planet – has no human understanding of human beings at all, but He still radiates light and He comes with the Indian teaching.  

We have initiates here who have reached the level of energy initiates have. They have enormous human experience or they have none, all depending on certain conditions, but they nevertheless have the same initiations. Now, the ones with experience will stay behind on Earth. The ones that had the necessary accomplishments are needed on Earth, for the King, the Lord of the World, needs experienced, compassionate people with human understanding to help humanity further. The other initiates who have less human understanding and experiences will be transferred to another planet.

So you understand, you can become an initiate by working with energies of  a certain frequency, without having hundreds and hundreds of lives of pain and suffering. But you may not remain just on this Earth and work for the Hierarchy, you will be working in other Hierarchies, because on other planets this experience may not be needed. 

I could explain a lot about initiations, how they have changed, what you need to know and accomplish before being initiated, but I can’t do it tonight, it will take me another two hours. It’s a very interesting topic, for it is a topic that relates to us and our growth, for I am seeing people who have not had my experiences on Earth, who have not lived here for as long as I have, and they will reach in one or two or three lives, the initiation that I have today. They will not have my storage of knowledge or human experience, but they will nevertheless be initiates of a certain degree and be able to work as such wherever needed. 

This is why you cannot delve into Theosophical books written 100 years ago. This knowledge was not given out, humanity was not ready for it. The knowledge given out now is talking about a changing initiatory system of Earth, a changing of the requirements, how you can train to reach a certain energy level of frequency, walk through the portals of initiation and so forth. It is new knowledge that you will not read in one book on this Earth. I have never heard anyone else but myself who has got it. 

I have read many, many books, many papers, many things, I have never heard any talk. They don’t know about the changes, because they are using the excellent Theosophical books as text books, relating to them, Steiner books, Alice Bailey books, wonderful books, but what they don’t understand is, because they don’t read, what the Lord D.K. said, and what Blavatsky has said and others have said through these books, there will be a new healing system, disciples working with this and that before long. And it’s now, we’re in it, and all this needs to be written down sooner or later, but it’s not written now. 

The Theosophists are limited to the books, the teaching that was written in those days, ending with Leadbeater’s death and Annie Besant’s death. That was 1934, 35. There have been other very great Theosophists writing, like Geoffrey Hodson and so on, but none of them have been given the knowledge of Maitreya’s Age which is now. They laid the foundation, they gave out the first part of the teaching, but the second part is coming now. 

And it will not be anything you can ever dream about. So many changes have occurred, because the Hierarchy itself did not know how people would change within those thirty years, fifty years – They never know – They can only say, about within 100 years this is going to happen, these effects will be seen, but They cannot know, and have never known, how people react. They do not know exactly if it will take 30, 50, 80 or 100 years to do it. They always tell me, everything is going much quicker than We thought. 

The changes are enormous. I have never seen such busyness as on the inner levels. I wouldn’t like to use the word chaos, because chaos is on Earth, on the physical level, but it could seemingly look like it at times. I’ve never seen such an enormous busyness as on the inner levels, nearly panic on some of the levels, so quickly are we changing.

Q. 'What is the Loch Ness monster?'

We have on this Earth prehistoric animals not passed away. I would not like to go into long details about this creature, I just want to say quickly that in hidden areas of the world, we still have species that have died out a long time ago and, in cases of cataclysmic actions on Earth, they will appear, hopefully not in the big cities – oh dear. Well, it is like this that we have other beings living with us on this Earth that we know of.

Q. 'I have read that towards the end of the century, there are going to be many Earth catastrophes and during this time, extra-terrestrials will visit this planet and become spiritual teachers to help us enter into the New Age. Do you know anything about this?'

We will have catastrophes, we have them already. But I believe that many of the great catastrophes will not come to pass as quickly as we were supposed to believe, because of the change in the consciousness of man, expansion of mind, we are avoiding certain things. 

Extra-terrestrials have been visiting this Earth over several periods and they are still here, and they are influencing humanity, certain of their own people incarnating in the flesh in a very pleasant manner. But there are also many negative extra-terrestrials, not working from the source of light, and one has to be aware of these messages that come through mediums who have no conscious recollection or control of themselves. 

I will not say who they are; I just know they are everywhere. I have seen messages from so-called extra-terrestrials that were trash, pure trash, it was doomsday talk that no human being would benefit from, and so-called coming from extra-terrestrials. Some were negative extra-terrestrials, others negative astral beings that are appearing like extra-terrestrials. 

However, we do not need the extra-terrestrials to enter the New Age, the Hierarchy doesn’t. The Hierarchy cooperates with certain, we can call them extra-terrestrials, spiritual beings from certain planets in this universe; and these extra-terrestrials I have had a lot of contact with them ten years ago, when there was a danger on Earth. Now they are coming back a little bit, I sense them, they are starting again to come closer to humanity because more work needs to be done by expanding the mind. They are helping the Hierarchy with your growth and they will, of course, train their people. Their people who have incarnated on this Earth, over the last 10,000,  20,000 years, they are training them very much themselves, but we who have remained longer on Earth are being more trained by the Hierarchy. 

Like Uri Geller, for example, I can come up with this name because you all know him. Uri Geller is a typical extra-terrestrial incarnating in the flesh, being trained by his own people. They work with other forces than the Hierarchy to a certain extent and it is very easy to discriminate the difference of energy frequency, if you understand about this. 

The New Age has come upon us, we are in it, and the extra-terrestrials, of the nature perhaps you will be talking about, do not have the experience, the knowledge, the spiritual development to help us – the Hierarchy has got it. Because you are living on another planet in your astral body, you may not have the experience needed on this planet; often you will not have it. The beings that the Hierarchy cooperates with are Venutians, certain Mercurians, Plutonians of a higher order and very often have nothing to do with the so-called extra-terrestrials that are coming to this Earth doing research and so forth. The Hierarchy only cooperates with very high orders from certain planets. 

I could tell you a lot about this, of course, perhaps next time when we meet again in a fortnight, because I have been trained a lot the two-three first years when I started, I was trained quite a lot by Jupiter and Venutians,  Jupiter people, because they do certain things for the Hierarchy that the Hierarchy don’t do themselves. I’ll tell you about it next time.

Q. 'Why are the Shan therapies called Forever Breathing, Living, etc.? Can you explain in detail what each therapy does?'

I would like just to tell you why I have put ‘Forever so and so’, on them. Because we work from the soul level where there is immortality, and forever life. When you work from the Hierarchy, the soul level, and down upon Earth – that is why only certain people within Shan the Rising Light can work perfectly with the therapeutic healing system, for the reason is that they have to train to channel a certain frequency of energy. 

We are working with soul powers, channeling soul powers – not astral powers, that is not soul, even if people think they are – and this frequency is coming from the level called ‘Forever’.

Forever Breathing is because we breathe in the violet light. Forever Breathing is the Holy Spirit, the Grace of God, the violet flame that we breathe into us to transmute the inner body from karma. 

In Forever Knowing, you are touching upon the knowledge of the soul, giving you what you need of the golden light of the 2nd Ray, so that you are contacting your inner storehouse of knowledge from the causal body. 

In Forever Healing, you are being healed and the process is permanent and constant. Being subjected to this certain energy frequency means that even if you don’t get any more Forever Healing treatments, there will still be a certain energy given to you which will work throughout your life. 

Forever Being is the 4th Ray. Forever Healing is the 3rd Ray, the emerald green. With the 4th Ray you are being purified, the 4th Ray is purification, balance and harmony. 

I have created this healing system as the one the Lord D.K. spoke about in His books:  the disciple will come and create the 7 Ray healing techniques. I have created them on all levels, from one to seven, from one frequency to the other. It is complete now, the system, and you have to understand the 7 Rays, you have to understand the qualities of the 7 Rays, and come to love them and know them; you have to play on them, like a pianist plays on the piano. In the end you become a perfect therapist, a therapeute, one of the Christed ones. It means you can give to people any level of frequency, from etheric to soul. 

What you don’t learn in this life, you learn in the next. It is a new healing system that the Hierarchy has released. We have now come to it and it has certain effects. All the 7 different therapeutic healings, levels 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 healings, have certain effects. Forever Living meaning that in that consciousness of divine truth you live forever, you contact the ever living source within you. Forever Holy we have called the 6th Ray, in which you will be redeemed; and I do Forever Seeing, which is the 7th level, where you have to be able to see into the auras of the causal body and all the other bodies and work from there. 

It is the most divine healing techniques, I must say, I have come across on this Earth, because – unlimited – they work on all scales, you understand, there is no end, no beginning. We are channeling this frequency, that frequency and our people are being trained to channel these frequencies. 

The effects from these levels can only be understood when you look at people from one year to the other. It is the new way of working. Healers must know about the 7 Rays and understand them. It is not enough any longer to work with Christ Jesus – you can do wonderful healings, but you don’t do much for spiritual growth. 

It is good, wonderful Holy Spirit healings are being done on Earth, wonderful healings, miraculous healings, in the name of Jesus, but the Hierarchy wants conscious esoteric healers, meaning that you are working from spiritual healing into esoteric healing and soul healing. It has never been seen before. I have worked with healing in most lives on Earth and have never done that kind of healing before, that you in one life at least can reach level 3. You can simply work from the etheric level, the astral level, the mental level and the start of soul, and the effects are beautiful and every one of us needs them. Everyone, the founders, the people who frequent us, everyone needs them; we can’t do without them, because that is how changing they are in our inner bodies. 

So, the change that manifests within us comes from regularly attending the church services, from doing the meditations and from simply having the healing done on us. It is a whole perfect system that the Hierarchy has released.

This is the difference between the Theosophical Society – it was writing books, books, books, books for 20, 30 years. Alice Bailey wrote for 30 years without stop. Steiner wrote for many years without stop, writing, writing, writing. But in this incarnation, it is the energy work. It is that we can’t get any further, the knowledge can’t get us any further, we are at a standstill if we are not being transmuted by energy.

See, the knowledge can only lead you to there, but knowledge can only become wisdom when you love, and without you loving, you cannot be a wise human being. Some love is involved in wisdom, but the highest power is love. Love is the correct use of the Divine Wisdom, and you cannot come to use it correctly when you do not understand it correctly from the heart and mind in complete balance. 

In Shan the Rising Light, therefore, we activate the divine heart. The divine heart is not alone the heart chakra. It is the heart chakra and the third eye in total balance, equally open and in function. The heart chakra alone makes you sentimental, completely without will, at times. The third eye makes you proud, arrogant, with a lot of will but no love. It is the combination. We therefore are walking from the path of knowledge into the path of the heart. And when you have then walked on the path of knowledge and the path of the heart, you enter perfection. The path of perfection is very short. 

But we can’t bypass the path of the heart. We have done it, we have done it for hundreds of lifetimes – we have been able to bypass the heart of love, the part of the heart, but we can’t do it any more because we don’t get any further – standstill, total standstill. This is why the Hierarchy says knowledge alone does not help you if not used wisely and with love – it only corrupts you, degrades you. 

So we are all past master scientists, world renowned philosophers, alchemists, great politicians with an intelligence quotient of genius – doesn’t help us in this lifetime. They have let us start from scratch, that has been our difficulty – no brains, no nothing, little bit of action here, little bit of action there, nothing to speak about, and from the beginning, no scientist’s mind, no knowledge. They don’t give us the knowledge either – no intelligence worth mentioning, bad memory, complete nitwits at times, no memory, nothing, because They want us to develop the heart and if we don’t do this, we won’t regain our knowledge, our mind, nothing we’ve had earlier. 

You can cry at home, but it won’t help you. Action, action is the key word. For years I have said, ‘Strange, I was this brain less than 100 years ago, where is it, it’s gone, can’t remember a thing’ – gets worse and worse every year. I have a certain knowledge, the basic knowledge I need, I have just what I need to support, to survive as a spiritual teacher. But I have the understanding of it, what is missing. 

And then Master said, ‘In this life, until you are love you don’t regain anything of the past knowledge’, certain understanding, one left side, brain knowledge, and He was actually right. It’s true, but just a little bit, just a little bit more knowledge, my students need a little bit more. But when I started to walk the way of the heart and started to activate the heart, my knowledge returned, more and more knowledge, more and more understanding, more and more everything. 

Because you become a dangerous individual. When you have knowledge and you have no heart – you become dangerous to the Hierarchy, in this day and age, very dangerous. You become more working for the negative forces, because you become more and more bloated and ego more self-important. They take everything away from you, titles, land, property, crush you to pulp. You learn to love, you decide how long you take in doing so, They give you everything back.

Obviously, since I am walking that path, I am attracting people who walk the same path, and I do. When I look at your past and look at you today, my God, it’s nearly a parody. I mean. . . you have been master scientists and politicians; I have sat with you in council; we could rule the whole Earth easily, easily, from the left side of the brain. There were no feelings at all, no compassion, there was nothing – a little bit now and then, but it is simply that it is the same past, and you have come to me because a spiritual teacher attracts people that the teacher can help according to one’s own path. 

You come to me for me to help you onto the path of the heart – there is no other solution, you will get nowhere. You have read all the books anyway, and it hasn’t got you further. Perhaps not in this life, from the last life, you sat there reading books and studying for several lives. Why are you here? Chakras not looking any better, behaviour is bad, has been worse. It is simply that you’re ripped of everything that you have felt was important, that gave you power – I am someone, everyone recognises me in the street and so forth, my face is in the paper and whatever you have been – and you are nothing, you are seemingly nothing today. 

But looking at your auras when I have you for readings, tells me that it is not a nobody sitting in that chair, there is an older soul, and I can see what you have been, and what you are now. Because there is one lesson to be learned now for most of you, love. And there is only one way to do it, it is to work from within that Heart of Christ. 

There is also the other way, but I don’t think you will like it: suffering.

I will tell you what the most suffering incarnation was, then I will stop for tonight, it was the Second World War. The Second World War did it. Nothing else has ever done it to the same extent on this Earth. It was unavoidable. It is said by the Hierarchy that it was not totally unavoidable, but it was unavoidable. The third one is avoidable. 

For without those two world wars, those disciples and higher aspirants would not be able to walk the heart’s path this incarnation and the next. That suffering did it. And you must pray that you will never have to go through that suffering again because it was terrible. And so I am, in this life, fighting to avoid a Third World War, because I lived through the last one and I hope never to do it again. 

It did it. It started on the crushing of the personality. It had horrendous effects. You must pray that you will never ever get into such a war – the third will be worse. 

And this is our goal within Shan the Rising Light and other organisations on Earth working with energies and love. We can avoid that great war, we can avoid certain catastrophes – but you must work from the heart, it is the only way to redeem the planet, the third eye won’t do it, the throat won’t do it. 

From working from the heart, you can redeem the planet yourself, and everyone within your family will be affected. That is why the Hierarchy says, you can avoid the Third World War if you cooperate. They mean walk the path of the heart and avoid the most terrible thing that can happen to this Earth.
